My grandfather told me the only two professions that would last forever were being a newspaperman or a mortician. Newspaperman because people are curious and always want to know what’s going on around the world and mortician because everyone dies. He’d be surprised to see what is happening in the newspaper business today. He’d be even more curious about blogging. Heck, wouldn’t all of our grandpas?
Earthbound Chronicles is the newspaper for my life and those around me. I’m Robyn. I’m SoCal raised. I’ve been part of the food industry for 25 years in one way or another. I blog about food, glass, photography, random pieces of life and crafting. I’ll also blog longingly about our transition from city to farm, hopefully, in the near future. We’ve got some land in northern Arizona that is expectin gus soon.
You will rarely find me blogging about my religious beliefs. I am very spiritual but somethings just aren’t supposed to be exposed to opinion or ridicule so I won’t be telling ya about that part of me. It is who I am, however, so you won’t read bad language, stories of partying til I puke, or random intimate encounters with the opposite sex.
I am married to my high school sweetheart and he is still the love of my life. We’ve shared 34 trips around the sun as married people and hopefully will enjoy that many more. My three intelligent, creative daughters are married to the loves of their lives and I currently have 4 grand children and one grand dog. It is a full life and I love it. I also have two enormously creative sisters, a dead brother, and more nieces and nephews to fill in the voids of quiet when the need arises. We are a mostly blogging family, so you’ll meet them as we go along.
I have a “scanner” personality and I love learning. Some people would classify me as a fliberdygibbit, but I like to think of myself as a well rounded learner. I’m love working with fire whether it be in a kitchen or in a studio with glass. I chronicle it all with my photography using a Canon Digital Rebel xTi. I’m a certified food stylist, granted by the C.I.A in Hyde Park, NY.
