I’ve been doing fused glass for a while now. For a couple of years I made an ornament that I would sell and give out to friends. Last year, I only made three ornaments. This year I may not be able to get to my kiln at all. I’m hoping to get my garage cleared enough to actually put together a new ornament for this year.
Looking at the 2007 ornament to the right, I can see how I have grown as an artist. It is a simple design, and I am now working toward a more complex look. Glass is an interesting medium. It has to get to 1400 degrees in order to be manipulated into shapes and then as it cools it must be carefully brought down in temperature stages so it does not shatter when completely cooled.
